This site is built so that visitors using screen readers, keyboards, and other assistive technology can browse, compare, and plan a trip like anyone else.
Our standard
Costa Rica Travel Consultants builds to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, with WCAG 2.2 additions applied wherever practical. In plain terms, that means the site is designed to be perceivable, operable, and understandable without a mouse, without sound, and without perfect vision.
What that looks like here
- Navigation menus, contact and quiz forms, and photo galleries work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline on every interactive element.
- Form fields have visible labels tied to their inputs.
- Text colors meet contrast requirements against the site's backgrounds.
- Pages reflow to narrow screens without sideways scrolling, and pinch-zoom is never blocked.
- Images carry alternative text, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
Known limitations
We review the site regularly and are honest about where it falls short today:
- Pages do not yet start with a skip-to-content link, so keyboard and screen reader users must move through the navigation on each page before reaching the main content. Adding one sitewide is on our fix list.
- The Spanish language button in the navigation is not active yet; screen readers announce it as a disabled control. A full Spanish version of the site is in progress.
- Descriptions of villa photos are intentionally generalized. We do not publish details that could identify a private property's exact location, so alternative text for those images is less specific than we would otherwise write.
