Two king suites and a third bathroom for up to four guests, in a new single-story villa of bamboo and natural materials in the same forest community outside Quepos as MA-79 and MA-86. The manager puts Quepos and Marina Pez Vela under ten minutes away and the beaches and park of Manuel Antonio just under twenty.
The living room, dining table, and kitchen form one open space under a high bamboo roof, with glass walls that slide back to the pool deck. The kitchen has a long wooden island, an oven and cooktop, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a blender, and a toaster. Each bedroom has a king bed, sliding glass walls to the terrace, and its own bathroom with a long wooden vanity and a rain shower, and there is a separate laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The house has no air conditioning. It is built for the breeze, with ceiling fans throughout, and guests split on it: several found the fans enough and the nights cool, others found it very hot inside on warm afternoons. Outside, a 60-foot saltwater pool runs the length of the deck, with loungers and outdoor showers. Guests write about spider and squirrel monkeys by the pool, macaws, toucans, and hummingbirds, and the community's night tour and chocolate tour a couple of minutes' walk away. All 89 guest reviews on the manager's page give it five stars.
We list this house as MA-87. Tell us your dates and group size and we confirm availability and the exact total with the manager, then sort out the rest: transfers, a private chef, and a guide for the national park.
The house is on one level, with wide sliding doors to the deck. The last stretch to it is a dirt road with potholes; guests recommend an SUV or a four-wheel drive, and one put the house about five kilometers in from the main road. Expect insects too, with the forest right outside open walls. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, ask us and we will confirm the details with the manager before you book.
Rates for this house are quoted on request. They move with the dates and the season, Costa Rica's 13 percent tax and a service fee are added on top, and the minimum stay is three nights most of the year, five over Christmas and New Year. The base rate covers two guests, with $25 a night for each extra guest. Tell us your dates and group size and we come back with an exact total.
We had a glorious few days at [the house]. It was extremely spacious with a gorgeous outdoor pool, surrounded by nature. Squirrel monkeys and a raccoon even came down to the poolside. The location is perfect, near to Manuel Antonio and other beautiful nature reserves. Would recommend 4 wheel drive to get up to the house, as a bit bumpy! We also had a private supper and breakfast arranged at the villa; which was delicious. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area!
Beautiful place right in all the nature which is what we were looking for! Took the chocolate tour and night jungle tour where the meeting location was a quick 2 minute walk from us which was a plus! Saw monkeys one morning that played for an hour and lots of birds everywhere. We loved this place!
This was an absolutely incredible place to stay! It's very secluded, the nature surrounding the home and pool are beautiful, and the home itself is amazing. We loved the open space of the home, the glass doors looking out to the pool, the huge island and kitchen area, beautful bathrooms - all of it. The pool is huge (60 feet long) and temperature is perfect, probably 90 degrees. I would recommend an SUV or larger vehicle for the rough road getting to the home. We really hope we can return to visit again one day as my wife and I fell in love with this place.
[The house] was great. We especially loved watching the monkeys, hummingbirds and nesting birds by the pool each day. It’s to be noted that the property is exceptionally hot although the management did provide fans for us to use. The pool is amazing and very private - such a lovely place.
[The house] was the perfect relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. The peaceful jungle setting made it easy to unwind, and the amazing private pool was definitely a highlight of our stay. The villa is spacious, modern, and beautifully designed, with nature all around. We enjoyed the privacy and tranquility!
The town end: Marina Pez Vela, the supermarket, and the Friday market close by, the park a short drive down the road.
