Three queen bedrooms and two bathrooms for up to six guests, in a quiet residential community in the forest just outside Quepos. The manager puts Marina Pez Vela about five minutes away by car and Manuel Antonio National Park about 15. The back of the house is one long covered terrace facing the trees, with the private pool on the same deck.
The primary bedroom has its own bathroom, and the other two bedrooms share the second full bathroom between them. Air conditioning is in the three bedrooms only; the open living room and kitchen run on ceiling fans and the breeze, which a few guests mention on hot afternoons. Inside there is a full kitchen, a dining table for six, a lounge with two sofas and a large smart TV, a desk for remote work, a washer and dryer, and hot water throughout.
On the terrace there is a dining table, sun loungers, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue grill beside the pool. Guests write about spider monkeys, coatis, iguanas, deer, and plenty of birds seen from the back deck. Of its 69 guest reviews, 68 give it five stars and one gives it four.
We list this house as MA-79. Tell us your dates and group size and we confirm availability and the exact total with the manager, then sort out the rest: transfers, a private chef, and a guide for the national park.
In the manager's photos the house is all on one floor: the bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, the living room, and the pool terrace are on the same level, and one of the bedrooms opens straight onto the pool deck through sliding doors. The front door opens off a paved landing next to the parking area, with no flight of steps in the photos. One bathroom has a walk-in shower with no visible curb; the other has a glass shower with a raised ledge to step over.
The house is tucked away. Guests say it is about three minutes' drive from the main road, that the last stretch is unlit and partly unpaved with potholes, and that the entrance is easy to miss after dark, so plan to arrive in daylight the first time. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, ask us and we will confirm the details with the manager before you book.
Rates for this house are quoted on request. They move with the dates and the season, Costa Rica's 13 percent tax and a service fee are added on top, and minimum stays run from one to three nights most of the year and five over the holidays. After staying a few nights in a noisy MA location, the quiet solitude of Julio's place hit the spot. It is remote, but just a three minute drive to the main road. Everything was clean, air-conditioning was amazing on the hot nights, and the pool was perfect. From the back deck, we saw a family of spider monkeys one night, coatis, the next and tons of beautiful birds. Looking back I wish we spent the whole trip in this house and when we come back, there's no doubt as to where we would stay. Gracias
Wow!! This place was absolute paradise! Everything was perfect! It was better than described. After a day hiking and enjoying nature, it was wonderful to return and jump in the pool and relax. It was so private and peaceful - perfect for vacation. Julio left us a pineapple and we had never tasted a pineapple so delicious before! We had one every other day of our vacation! Everyday we saw ignuanas out front, which was so fun! Just the bedrooms are air conditioned, but with the pool and porch being right there, it was perfect. It was a little hard to find - make sure to use GoogleMaps and not anything else! Communication beforehand was so helpful and inviting. They helped us find fun things to do and gave us great recommendations for what to do and where to eat. I was traveling with my kids internationally for the first time, and they made me so excited instead of nervous. We already all miss Costa Rica and want to go back! Thank you so much for everything!!
Excellent home 10/10! The home was another destination for us! Great space for a family of 5. The pool was so much fun and so private with the jungle surrounding. No concerns for safety. We cooked most of our meals in the home and it worked well. They were quickly attentive to the couple needs we had as well..thank you! I will note a couple things that could be improved...the house got soooo hot..we recorded 90deg. F inside on our phones when we arrived home one day. I'd say let the people keep their ACs on during the day or find another way to cool it down during the day? For the kitchen, I'd recommend some plastic dishes/cups you can use outside and some sharp knives. We loved our stay and would do it again and so should you!
We had such a great time at Julio's place. The place was located in a beautiful private community. We saw deer, iguanas and lots of birds from the rear deck. The pool was awesome to relax in after a long day of sight seeing and beach activities. The living room and kitchen can get a little warm because the ac is only in the bedrooms but that was a minor issue for us. Definitely recommend this place.
A beautiful stay in Quepos. The [home] is even bigger than it looks like in the photos, especially the balcony and pool. We saw iguanas, monkeys, huge butterflies and birds from the balcony. The kitchen has everything you need and the barbecue was a nice addition! We had a 4x4 so getting around was easy, especially visiting the stunning beaches around Manuel Antonio.
The town end: Marina Pez Vela, the supermarket, and the Friday market close by, the park a short drive down the road.
