Three bedrooms and three bathrooms for up to six guests, in about 2,200 square feet on two floors, inside the same gated community above Quepos as MA-80 and MA-85. It is one of the lower houses in the community, at the edge of town: guests walk into Quepos for shopping and dinner, and a bus to Manuel Antonio National Park stops down the road.
Upstairs is the main living space under a high wood ceiling: a long built-in sofa, a dining table for six, and a kitchen with a gas range, plus a king suite and a wide covered balcony with rocking chairs over the garden and pool. Downstairs, through sliding doors from the pool deck, are a second living room with a spiral staircase, the laundry room, and two more air-conditioned bedrooms (a king and a queen) with two bathrooms. Families with teenagers like that each kid gets a room and a bathroom.
The garden is the best part: a curved private pool with wide entry steps and a round spa, a covered rancho with a stone picnic table, a gas grill, and loungers in a ring of forest. Guests write about capuchin and howler monkeys in the trees overhead, a hidden waterfall on the property's trails, and a pool cleaned every day. Of the 63 reviews on the manager's page, 61 give it five stars.
We list this house as MA-98. Tell us your dates and group size and we confirm availability and the exact total with the manager, then sort out the rest: transfers, a private chef, and a guide for the national park.
The two floors are joined by a spiral staircase, with bedrooms on both, so ask for the downstairs rooms if anyone has trouble with stairs. The upstairs living area relies on ceiling fans and can be warm in the afternoon; the bedrooms have air conditioning. The house sits low in the community, so the drive in is easier than for the hilltop houses, and one guest notes branches falling from the trees onto the roof, loud in the upstairs bedroom. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, ask us and we will confirm the details with the manager before you book.
Rates for this house are quoted on request. They move with the dates and the season, Costa Rica's 13 percent tax and a service fee are added on top, and the minimum stay is three nights most of the year, five over Christmas and New Year. Maid service can be added. Tell us your dates and group size and we come back with an exact total.
Had the most wonderful time here. It's a quirky property and we loved it. So spacious. Fantastic kitchen for cooking. Lovely cooling pool. Sitting out on the porch in a rocking chair watching the storms was beautiful. Absolutely no complaints!
I stayed here with my 3 teenagers for 5 nights. We all absolutely loved it. Everyone was welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our villa was comfortable, well stocked and we saw monkeys and iguanas every day. Our pool was cleaned daily for us and they put out 2 brand new hammocks for us that we enjoyed daily. The hidden waterfall on the property was a favorite for my son. If we are ever fortunate to return to this area, we would absolutely stay here again.
This place was fabulous for my family of 4 (2 teens). Each kid had their own bedroom and bathroom. The property is beautiful and location is great with access to many different activities! We had a family of capuchins visit one evening, and there is a black spiny-tailed iguana that hides out in the backyard! Saw many other lizards and my Merlin app picked up numerous bird calls. Would definitely recommend this property!
Everything was great at [the house]! After a hot day of sightseeing, we loved lounging in the pool while Capuchin monkeys played in the trees overhead. Great location right on the edge of Quepos and an easy drive over the hill to the national park.
We had such a wonderful stay at [the house]. In such a handy location, with everything you could need nearby. There’s a bus stop just down the road to easily get to Manuel Antonio National Park if you don’t have a vehicle. The house itself was even better than described / photographed - we’d love to come back again.
The gated community and the hills around it above Quepos, rainforest on every side. Five minutes down to the marina, about fifteen to the park.
