Three bedrooms, each with a king bed and its own bathroom, for up to six guests, on a hill above Quepos. The manager puts the town and Marina Pez Vela about two minutes away by car, and Manuel Antonio's beaches and the national park a short drive on. From the terrace and the main bedroom you look out over the town, the bay, and the mountains behind.
The house is bright inside, with tile floors, tropical hardwood trim, and high wooden ceilings. The open living room, a desk with a view, and a kitchen with granite counters, a dishwasher, and an ice maker share the main floor. The main bedroom has a walk-in closet and doors straight out to the deck and the pool; the second bedroom also looks to the ocean and the town, and the third faces the garden. Guests mention a half bathroom off the hall as well. Air conditioning runs through the house, and there is a washer and dryer.
Outside, a long covered terrace holds a dining table for eight, sofas, and a swing bed, with ceiling fans for the hot hours. The private pool sits on a pale stone deck with a water spout, and beside it is an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill and a refrigerator, plus an outdoor shower. Guests write about toucans living in a tree beside the house, scarlet macaws passing every day, monkeys, iguanas, and a sloth seen from the terrace. Of the 47 guest reviews on the manager's page, 42 give it the top score and five the next one down.
We list this house as MA-83. Tell us your dates and group size and we confirm availability and the exact total with the manager, then sort out the rest: airport transfers, a private chef, and a guide for the national park.
The short drive up from the main road is steep, with a couple of sharp turns, and guests mention it often. Most drive it in an ordinary rental car or SUV without trouble; one group was met by the manager's team at the bottom and guided up the first time. The house has parking for up to four cars.
One guest counted about 30 steps from the driveway up to the front door and found them easy to climb in their 80s. The pool is deep and the terrace edge is open, and one guest felt that made the house less suited to small children; another found the outdoor tiles slippery when wet. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, ask us and we will check the details with the manager before you book.
From $420 a night. Rates move with the dates and the season, and Costa Rica's 13 percent tax is added on top. The minimum stay is two nights most of the year, four over Thanksgiving and some holiday weekends, and seven over Christmas and New Year, when arrivals fall on one fixed day. My family and I had an amazing stay. The house is amazing and the view is even better. The pool was a perfect way to spend the afternoons. The house was beautiful and comfortable. It was such a treat to see monkeys from the porch every morning. Location is perfect. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We hired the chef for breakfast and dinner, food was amazing!!
Our two families of 2 and 4 loved staying at [the house]. The house was perfect for us, well situated, a pleasure to enjoy birds and other wildlife from the expansive balcony, the inviting pool, the comfortable beds and bedrooms, the great location and views of Quepos and the bay. The layout of bedrooms was perfect for two families and provided great privacy. The checkin process was a breeze. [...] The house is located on a hill and the short drive from the highway is steep with a couple of sharp turns, but we had no difficulty driving our rental SUV to and from the house. There are about 30 stairs from driveway to front door, but stair height is easy to navigate, and even in our 80s, my wife and I managed quite well. Overall, [the house] is definitely one of the best vacation rentals we've ever had, and I highly recommend it.
Spectacular Place! The home was beautifully appointed with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen had everything imaginable, including an ice maker! The outside living space was wonderful with plenty of room and the perfect mix of sitting and lounge areas. We enjoyed sitting outside watching all of the wildlife and birds each morning, eating dinner outside, and lounging by the pool. The rooms were spacious and appreciated that all bedrooms had their own bath plus the half bath. The concierge and housekeeping services made us feel like we were at a resort. The concierge service was amazing from helping us book our transportation and excursions in advance to the daily assistance with taxis, recommendations and even carry out one evening. We loved the location - close to town and a bus stop but completely private and safe. [The house] is the perfect place to stay in Quepos. We highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
Fantastic home overlooking Quepos and the beach. We really enjoyed the daily bird watching. Everday we saw the two Toucans that lived in a tree just a few feet from the home. We also would enjoy watching the two Macaws that would regularly pass by. Everthing about this home made our family vacation very memorable. Thank you!
I can’t say enough about this beautiful home. Our family of four absolutely loved our time here. Besides the beautiful and spacious interior, the balcony was amazing. We absolutely loved sitting outside and watching the wildlife and view of Quepos. We saw scarlet macaws several times each day, tons of other birds, iguanas and monkeys. All while relaxing on the balcony. I highly recommend this home for your visit to Quepos.
Beautiful house, though I would not recommend it if you have small children because of the open terrace and a very deep pool which makes it hard for kids to enjoy.
The town end: Marina Pez Vela, the supermarket, and the Friday market close by, the park a short drive down the road.
