MAE-22 is a contemporary house of about 8,600 square feet on the Manuel Antonio hillside, all clean lines, stone, and floor-to-ceiling glass. Every level faces the ocean, and the view takes in Manuel Antonio National Park, Cathedral Point, and the coast beyond it.
The roof is where the house spends its afternoons. Up there is a saltwater infinity pool whose edge lines up with the horizon, an outdoor kitchen and barbecue, a dining table, lounge seating, and a powder room, so nobody has to go downstairs for anything. It is a good spot for the sunset.
Inside, the kitchen, dining room, and living room are open to each other and air conditioned, joined by an atrium that lets in light and a view of the trees. The terraces off the living areas have a hanging chair and an outdoor dining table, and there is a game room with a ping pong table.
On the entry level are a king suite and a bunk room with two doubles and two singles, which works well for kids and teenagers. Upstairs are four more king suites, each with its own bathroom, a private balcony, air conditioning, and an ocean view. Daily housekeeping, a house host on site, and laundry twice a week are included, and a private chef can be arranged.
From $850 a night. The managers price by the week and by season, as a private four-bedroom, a five-bedroom, or the full six bedrooms. Holiday weeks are quoted on request. Local taxes are added on top. Tell us your dates and group size and we will send you the current total before you book.
Beautiful house! We were a family of 14 and this was the perfect house for our vacation. The top floor patio and pool was perfect for afternoon hangouts after activities.
We cannot thank you enough for all you did to ensure that our Costa Rican family adventure was perfect in every way! Let me start with a big shout-out for Christian, who picked us up at SJO on Saturday, July 27. He graciously took us to a convenience store to buy water and snacks for the kids, who were tired after the plane trip, and two hours later, he stopped at a charming local restaurant for a typical Costa Rican lunch. What a great way to start our trip! We were beyond thrilled when we arrived at [the house], which is truly spectacular! The house easily accommodated our large family of 14 and offered numerous gathering spots with million dollar views. The entire family had a blast playing in the infinity pool nearly every afternoon. We appreciated the daily house cleaning, and we were delighted to come home to clean and neatly folded clothes every day! What a surprise! Best of all, we enjoyed the gourmet breakfasts and dinners prepared by the amazing Chef Jorge and his assistant, Christine, each day! We have never eaten better! They were so kind to the children and graciously prepared snacks for the children to enjoy throughout the day. Finally, the 2 excursions that you arranged for us -- the Manuel Antonio Park Tour and the All-Day Waterfall Tour -- were highlights of the trip for all of us!
